Events
What an event is in Bookitive, the draft → on sale → past lifecycle, and a tour of the event workspace.
An event is the unit everything revolves around: one show, ball, conference, or festival day. Each event owns its ticket types, orders, seating plan, staff, emails, and settings — so two events never interfere with each other, even when they share a venue and a team.
The lifecycle
| Status | Meaning |
|---|---|
| Draft | Being prepared. Invisible to the public; the public link shows "not on sale yet". |
| On sale | Published. Buyers can order on the public page and in embeds. |
| Past | The date has passed. Sales are over; data stays for reporting. |
| Cancelled | Called off. Sales stop; the event is kept for records. |
You move an event forward by publishing it (the button lives in the event header) and can unpublish back to draft, cancel, or delete it from the danger zone. Publishing is also the moment Bookitive asks for your billing details if they're missing — you can skip that and fill them in later.
Separate from the lifecycle is Pause all sales — a red switch in the event settings that stops public sales instantly without unpublishing. The page stays up, buyers see that sales are paused, and your box office keeps working. Use it for "hold on, we need an hour" moments.
The event workspace
Opening an event swaps the sidebar to that event's workspace:
- Overview — live KPIs, revenue chart, alerts, and recent orders, with the Sales and Attendance analytics tabs.
- Sales — Orders, Refunds, Guest list, Check-in, and the Waitlist.
- Setup — Ticket types, Seating plan and Seating setup, Discounts, Emails, and Ticket design.
- Growth — Sponsors and Share & embed.
- Plus the event's Files, its Audit log, and Event settings.
The Sell tickets button at the top of the sidebar opens the box office.
Slugs, timezones, and currency
- Slug — each event has a URL slug, unique within your organization;
together with the organization's slug it forms the public address
(
…/your-org/your-event). - Timezone — every event carries its own timezone, and it is the authority for everything scheduled: sale windows, price-phase deadlines, reservation expiries, and "per-day" admission all follow the event's zone, not yours or the buyer's.
- Currency — set per event; all its prices, orders, and reports use it.
