Check-in
Any phone becomes a scanner — instant verdicts, live door stats, undo, double-entry protection, and a console built for dark hallways and long queues.
Check-in is the door console: open it on any phone or laptop (event sidebar → Check-in), point the camera at ticket QR codes, and run the entrance with sub-second verdicts. No rented scanners, no app installs for your crew — a browser and the checkin.scan permission is the whole setup.
Scanning
The camera view scans continuously; each code gets one of four verdicts, loud and color-coded:
| Verdict | Meaning |
|---|---|
| Valid | Welcome in — the ticket is admitted and counted. |
| Already scanned | Someone already used this code (the verdict shows when); for re-entry tickets it shows as a readmit instead. |
| Revoked | The ticket was cancelled — refunded or revoked order. |
| Not found | Not a ticket of this event — wrong event, wrong QR, or a fake. |
When a code won't scan — cracked screen, dim printout — type it with manual entry; the verdict logic is identical. And when there's no code to type, Find by name searches the guest list right inside the console — enter a name or email, pick the guest from the results, and Admit them through the same audited path.
Built for the real door
- Atomic claims. Two scanners hitting the same code in the same second produce exactly one admit — the other sees already scanned. A screenshot shared to five friends gets one person in.
- Every entrance in sync. All consoles share live state; the progress counter — N of M guests inside — plus duplicate and invalid counts update everywhere in real time.
- Live feed and history — every scan attempt streams into the recent list, so the supervisor sees trouble (a burst of invalids at gate B) as it happens.
- Undo — fat-fingered an admit for the wrong person? Undo returns the ticket to unscanned; the action is audited.
- Double-entry conflicts are flagged — if one ticket shows up at two doors, both consoles hear about it.
The door is independent of sales: Pause all sales doesn't pause scanning, and a past event still scans fine — useful when doors open after midnight of the "event day".
Who scans
Give door crew the Scanner role on just this event — they get check-in and nothing else, not even reports. The mobile app offers the same scanning with a torch for dark entrances, and unattended gates can use machine scanner devices.
