Getting started

From a blank account to your first sold ticket — create your organization, set up an event, add tickets, connect payments, and publish.

Welcome to Bookitive. This guide takes you from a brand-new account to your first sold ticket. The whole setup usually takes a few minutes — and nothing you enter is final, everything can be changed later.

Create your account

Sign up at the Bookitive admin with your name, email, and a password — or use the passwordless code login: enter your email, receive a 6-digit code, and you're in. The code flow doubles as signup for new emails, so there is no separate registration step to get wrong.

See Your account for passwords, language, and account settings.

The onboarding wizard

On your first sign-in, Bookitive opens a five-step wizard. It saves as you go and resumes where you left off — you can click Finish later on most steps and come back anytime. Steps you have completed stay clickable, and re-running a step updates what you created instead of duplicating it.

Create your organization

Your organization is the home for everything: events, customers, money, and your team. Pick a name — the public URL slug is derived from it and locked after creation, so give it a second's thought.

Choose how buyers pay you

Buyers pay you directly — Bookitive never holds your money. Pick your payment methods and enter the bank account that appears in reservation emails with a QR payment code. If you bank with Fio, you can connect the Fio API right here (a read-only token is enough) and incoming payments match to orders automatically — no manual checking.

Set up your first event

Just the basics: name, date and time, and where it happens. Everything can be changed later. If your event is seated, you'll design the seating plan afterwards in Seating setup — the wizard keeps this step simple on purpose.

Add ticket types

Add one or more standing ticket types with a name, price, and capacity — for example Standard, VIP, and Afterparty. Seated ticket types come later, once a seating plan exists to attach them to.

Publish — or keep it as a draft

Publish the event to open sales immediately and get the public link to share, or choose Keep as draft for now and polish it first. When you're done, Go to your dashboard.

After the wizard

The organization dashboard shows a Getting started checklist tracking the same milestones — create the organization, create an event, add ticket types, add a bank account, publish — so you always see what's left before you can start selling. It disappears once you're fully set up.

From here, three paths are worth knowing on day one:

  • Design a seating plan if your event is seated — see Seating.
  • Share the event — the public link, a QR code, and an embeddable widget live under Share & embed.
  • Prepare the door — any phone becomes a scanner; see Check-in.
